An OWCN Management Team Day Out on the Town
Team Bonding in Sacramento

In the OWCN, Readiness is not just about having personnel and gear ready to respond. It is also about taking care of ourselves and our team. Building trust, maintaining good relationships and continuing to communicate effectively will always be the goal.
So with that..
Last week the OWCN Management Team had quite the day on the town participating in some team bonding. It is not easy to get us all together in person, but once in a blue moon we come together and have a little fun. We sure did have fun.
After a wonderful lunch, we spent the afternoon racing through the streets of Downtown Sacramento with some friendly competition teaming up against each other in a scavenger hunt. A little competition never hurt anyone!
Although clear skies weren’t promising early on, just as we began our adventure the clouds cleared and we were able to enjoy a rain free time.
With lots of silly poses and skits we definitely were able to make the most of a cold February day. Below you will see some of the great poses we were tasked to do... Of course, the obligatory "posing with the bronze statues"

And then a little bit of everything else XD.

Some more fun team pictures*...

* no, that is not Jamie's lipstick.
I will keep the “air rock band” videos for the MT eyes only... but I'm sure you can imagine all of the head banging. 😜
In an emergency response world where we are full out exerting ourselves for the cause, team bonding and building trust will always be important. I am grateful for a wonderful day, we are motivated and cannot wait to take on this next year!
I think I will leave you with a word from everyone, on our team, describing their day.
Fun, Refreshing, Silly, Wet, Awesome, Engaging, Surprising-lyFun, Cold, Enjoyable, Needed.
