Coming Soon: New SFBOWCEC Training Center
After a lengthy planning and permit process the OWCN Management Team is happy to announce that the construction of the new SFBOWCEC training center has begun. Our general contractor moved onsite and broke ground at the beginning of last month.
The building site is adjacent to the current SFBOWCEC center, which our partners at International Bird Rescue manage and operate out of. The new training site will include a 2160 sq. ft. training building equipped with a classroom, conference room, office and bathrooms. The site will also include a 2400 sq. ft. steel storage building that will become home to some of our response equipment such as, boats and western shelters.
This new space will be vital for future network trainings, drills, and response. Not to mention it will further our ability to maintain and protect equipment for rapid deployment to spill events. Estimated completion date is April 2024, which will be highly dependent on the weather. We look forward to being able to engage the OWCN network in this new space in the near future!
A special thanks to the OWCN Management Team and International Bird Rescue for helping this project move forward.
